DESCRIPTION:The Commission on Social Development elects the officers for it
 s subsequent session immediately following the close of the current sessio
 n. In February 2014\, a Chair and two Vice Chairs were elected. One of the
  Vice Chair subsequently resigned. Therefore\, two Vice Chair position rem
 ain to be filled. The Commission will elect nominees already named for the
 se positions at its first meeting o the 53rd session  on 4 February 2015.
  At the same meeting\, the Commission will designate one of its Vice-Chair
 s as also having rapporteurial responsibilities. The officers elected for
  the 53rd session will serve two-year terms.
