Seven members of the Committee on Conferences concluded their terms on 31 December 2014. On 5 December, the President of the General Assembly appointed representatives from the Central African Republic, Namibia, Paraguay and Russia as members of the committee for 3-years terms, beginning on 1 January 2015. Three seats remain vacant — two from the Asia-Pacific States and one from the Western European and other States. The General Assembly will hear from the President on 2 Februrary regarding these remaining vacancies.
